Armand Van Helden was born in Boston in 1970.Massively prolific house music producer, Van Helden was first noticed for his numerous productions on Strictly Rhythm produced under various aliases. His first big underground hit was scored late 1994 with "Witch Doktor", a mysterious, dark and hypnotic composition. His first EP followed, giving a glimpse of his talents and imagination. In 1995, he re-edited "The Bomb" by The Bucketheads and started to remix other artists. From the big names of Eurodance (Real McCoy, Rednex) to popular pop acts (Bananarama, Ace Of Base, Blondie), the 'Van Helden' touch started to impose itself.After a couple of succesful remixes for Kim English and Daft Punk among others, he unintentionally kickstarted the genre known as "speed garage" with his remixes of 'Sugar Is Sweeter' by CJ Bolland (strongly inspired by 'Get Up' by Krimp), 'Professional Widow' by Tori Amos, 'Runaway' by Nuyorican Soul and 'Spin Spin Sugar' by the Sneaker Pimps.To prove he was not just only a remix act, he came back with one of his own productions 'The Funk Phenomena' in 1996. It became an international dance hit and made Van Helden the most requested DJ of the time.Further albums and singles continued his success story: 'You Don't Know Me' (1999), with Duane Harden on vocals, sampled Carrie Lucas to great effect, just like 'My My My' did with Gary Wright (2004).He Has also dabbled occasionally in hip hop productions: the album 'Sampleslaya' (1997) is a good example.

Beady Belle is a result of a collaboration between the two Norwegian musicians Beate S. Lech and Marius Reksjø which began at the University of Oslo. As music students they started playing together in several bands. In 1999 Beate began to produce her first own album for Jazzland Records in her home studio. After a while Marius took care especially in producing the groove elements. The record was entitled "Home". Because of the co-operation between Beate and Marius, the project name “Beate S. Lech” was abandoned and “Beady Belle” was created. In 2003 the new album "Cewbeagappic" was released. Since their first release Beady Belle are touring around the world with a live band, wich played also on "Cewbeagappic".

With the project Freedom Satellite Gernot Ebenlechner and Jürgen Drimal have created a platform for the realization of their musical conceptions, influenced by 40 years of recorded history, driven by an affinity for phat-beats.The groove is the grounding for Freedom Satellite, an instrument that sends and responds, connected with contemporary developments and based on a wide apprecation of music in general. Fed by auditive information Freedom Satellite revolves in orbit, obseving and analyzing, a symbiotic system with it´s antennas wide spread.
Driven by the easy beat of the millenium latinazition “Freedom Satellite” takes us on a knee-deep excursion into nu-jazz´s dubophil south american explotations. The hypnotical quality of the tracks brings back to mind -the reason why- the viennese new-skool had such a strong impact on the contemporary down-tempo scene. Rooted in the free but tight pattern production of Gernot Eberlechner & Jürgen Drimal (with additional inputs by Uptight -producer Rodney Hunter on “Soul Samba”) and dazzeled by the Montgomerian guitar style of fashion designer Gerald Tomez “Soul Samba” stays in the straight forward approach of present elctronic music whilst never loosing it´s “organic touch”.
Jürgen Drimal a passionate record collector, producer and DJ, is also the man in charge for the compilation of “Vienna Scientists Vol. I” relased in November 1998 and the follow up “Vienna Scientists II” relased in August 1999 on Columbia Records. Encouraged by the growing public interest for retarding rhythms and positive resonance from different sources he set the foundation for the label, Vienna Scientitsts Recordings. As head of A&R he keeps his eye eyes and ears wide open for brisk new talents and their acoustic exposes. Together with drummer/producer Gernot Ebenlechner a solid basis was built, which manifested in numerous studio sessions and the formed musical material. Freedom Satellite is completed by fashion designer Gerald Tomez who went through a classical musical education on guitar, and bass player Michael Pint.
